Charles Embry Strain

Charles “Chuck” Strain, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Hospice House in Lakeland.

Chuck was a 1948 graduate of Bartow High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years following his graduation. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Florida Southern College, where he met the love of his life, Ginger. The couple married during their senior year and built a beautiful life together.

Chuck enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry, dedicating over 40 years to helping others. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club and a cherished part of his community. Chuck was preceded in death by his two sons, Gary and Doug. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Ginger, his son Scott, his brother Don, his sisters Wanda and Betty, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

A longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Chuck’s life will be celebrated there in a service on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck’s memory to SPCA Florida in Lakeland, honoring his love for animals.
