Charles Clanton Heath, 90 Real Estate Broker Wauchula " Charles C. Heath, 90, died on March 2, 2012 due to natural causes. He was born on April 2, 1921 in Ft. Meade, Florida. Charles graduated from Ft. Meade High School in 1939 and graduated from Florida Southern College in 1947. He served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Burleigh in the South Pacific and Atlantic during WWII. He was discharged from the Navy in 1945 as chief petty officer with several combat medals. Charles was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wauchula, the Masonic Lodge No. 17, the Lions Club, the Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 2, and a member the clown unit of the Egypt Temple of the Shrine. He was also a Lay Leader and taught the Methodist Men""s bible class. He is preceded in death by his brothers, George, Jr., Herman, Ed, Sam, and Frank. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Florence, his daughter, Tracey Heath, his brother, Foster Heath, his sister, Frances Heath Jones of Ashville, NC, and sister in law, Sally (Fred) Simpson of Jacksonville, FL. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 2 pm to 3 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Wauchula with services to follow at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Wauchula""s Youth group or a charity of your choice.
