Charles ""Chuck"" Wiland, 86 Lakeland: Charles ""Chuck"" Wiland, 86, of Lakeland, went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2012 from respiratory failure. His life was one of great accomplishments and success. He was a decorated veteran of WWII serving in the Navy-Air Force. He achieved a doctorate degree from Kent State University in Ohio where he also served as an administrative dean. He later was in charge of building the Trumball Campus in Warren, Ohio where he was honored as the first Administrator. After retiring he relocated to Florida in 1982. He and his former wife, Rose, resided in Apollo Beach and later Lakeland. Rose passed away in 1990. Chuck and current wife Barbara married in 1995. Both had a love of travel and they traveled extensively throughout the world. Chuck""s passion was writing. As an accomplished author he wrote ten books in the last seventeen years. He leaves his wife, Barbara, four children; daughter Sharla Hess of Warren, Ohio, Jeffrey of Kent Ohio, Brian and Bruce of Columbus, Ohio, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 22, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Crestview Baptist Church with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery at 2:30 P.M.
