Carol J. Mihlfeld, 79, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at her home. Born on July 22, 1942 to Comer and Lois Johnson, in Russellville, Alabama. Carol moved to Lakeland and began her career as a teacher and media specialist for the Polk County School Board. The simplest pleasure in life brought great joy to Carol. She loved attending church at Highland Park Church of the Nazarene and singing in the choir. She was especially know for her powerful singing voice and was often requested to sing at funerals. Carol loved spending time in the kitchen and was known for her coconut cake, fudge and many other delicious and yummy desserts. She enjoyed her trips to the Lakeland Library and would often come home with a stack of books that she somehow managed to read them all before they were due back. Carol is survived by her daughters, Dana (Mark) Hammond and Cara Davis; grandchildren Cori, Matthew, Paige and Ashley; great granddaughter, Coriyah and twins due in September; sister, Connie Johnson and brother, Comer Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Comer & Lois Johnson; brother, Paul Johnson. A Going Home Memorial is scheduled for Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. at Highland Park Church of the Nazarene, 4730 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, 33813.
