C. Frank Scott, 97 Lakeland: Clarence Frank Scott, 97, retired Lakeland banker, died at home of natural causes on Friday January 3, 2014. A native of Alabama, Frank was born on July 7, 1916, son of B.E. & Maud Lee Kelly Scott of Prattville. After World War II, he moved to Lakeland from Charleston, S.C. All of his life, Frank was active in the Methodist Church. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Home Builders Sunday School Class and a former longtime member of College Heights United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Stewards, as Lay Leader and Chairman of the Finance Committee for many years. He was also active in the Cub Scouting program. Frank was a director of the Florida Methodist Foundation from 1980-1987 and President from 1988-1989. Frank was a graduate of LSU""s School of Banking of the South and was Senior Vice President & Cashier of Peoples Bank of Lakeland for many years. Frank was also a former member of the Rotary Club of Lakeland. Frank and his wife Georgeanna and their four sons enjoyed many vacations camping in North Carolina and the Georgia mountains. After retiring, he and Georgeanna would enjoy the mountains with their grandsons, and attended many family reunions, researching family history together. Frank is preceded in death by his parents and his 6 brothers. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Georgeanna. 4 sons; Stephen F. Scott, Philip C. Scott, David B. Scott, and John W. (Cheryl) Scott. 2 grandsons Joseph and Joshua; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday January 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the chapel at First United Methodist Church.
