Bobby Joe Lee

Bobby Joe Lee, 61, of Bartow, FL, passed away on Monday October 9, 2023, in his home surrounded by family.

Bobby was born on June 22, 1962, in Winchester, IN to Duane Edward Lee and Margaret Lee Modlin. He spent his youth riding dirt bikes and playing baseball. After Bobby graduated high school in Lynn, IN, he went on to join the Air Force and served for 10 years; Bobby earned many accolades during his tenure in the Air Force, having participated in Operation Desert Storm, and was given Staff Sargeant Rank. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force and began to raise a family with his wife Marcela Lee, who he met in the Philippines during his enlistment. Bobby lived a simple and quiet life, he liked to read literature (Stephen King and Harry Turtledove were some of his favorites), watch TV, and would occasionally garden. His love of film was unparalleled and while he was reserved most of the time you could always get him to talk about movies.

Bobby is survived by his spouse Marcela, his three children: Catherine (Alex), Andrew, and Chelsea, and his grandson, Oliver.

Services will be held at Heath Funeral Chapel on Monday October 16, 2023, at 10 AM. Burial will be held at 2 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
