Betty Lou Woods

BETTY LOUWOODS, 83 LAKELAND - Betty Lou Woods, age 83, of Lakeland passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 16, 2014, due to complications from a fall. Betty was born in Winter Haven, on December 30, 1930, to Delmar and Edna O\'Connor, and was a resident of Lakeland for more than 50 years. She retired from GTE and was a very active member of the Church of the Resurrection. Betty was an avid Bridge player. She was preceded in death by her husband Ancil Woods and brothers Nolan and Michael O\'Connor. She was a loving mother to six children. She is survived by her sons Stephen Woods, Martin Woods, and fiancee\' Andrea, Michael Woods and wife Heather, her daughters Teresa Hatley and husband Steve, Patty Catrett, Carol Pickard and husband Donald, her sisters Barbara Ann Martin and Gail Jones and brother Gene Raymond O\'Connor. She has seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at the Church of the Resurrection at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 20, 2014, followed by a Mass at 11:00 am.
