Betty Jo Murphy Betty Jo Murphy passed away peacefully at home on Saturday May 28, 2016, in Lakeland, FL. Betty was born on March 2, 1928, and is survived by her husband Dr. Frank P. Murphy and her daughters, Mardi Sale of Zephyrhills, FL, Emily (Darren) Plymale of Odessa, FL and daughter in-law Pam Sale of Valdosta, GA; along with six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Thaxton Sale, as well as her two great-grandsons, Gavin and Sebastian Rosado. Betty graduated from Plant High School in 1946. She continued her studies for many years at Florida Southern College where she studied art, and was a member of a local art group. She had a great passion for all animals but loved her cat ""Baby"" the most. Betty also enjoyed traveling and sightseeing around the world with her husband. Graveside services will be held by Heath Funeral Chapel on Friday morning at 11:00 am at Oak Hill Burial Park at 4620 US Hwy 98 South, Lakeland, FL 33812.
