Benjamin D. Fulton, Jr.

Benjamin D. Fulton, Jr., 81 Educator Lakeland - Benjamin D. Fulton, Jr., a Florida native, was born in Stuart, Florida, to Gertrude Miller Fulton and Benjamin Durant Fulton on March 15th, 1932. He graduated from Stuart High School (now Martin County High School) in 1950 and attended the University of Florida before joining the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He returned to Stuart, married Clara Bevis of Tallahassee, and went to work for Florida Power and Light. A few years later, he joined his father in starting the Citgo Oil distributorship in Stuart, and moved his family to Jensen Beach. He was always an avid boater and fisherman, and spent as much time on the water as he could. After his father retired from the fuel oil distributorship, Ben served as the manager of the Stuart Airport, a charter pilot with St. Lucie Skyways and Bizjet of Palm Beach, and - for several years " the personal pilot of actor Burt Reynolds. After receiving his bachelor""s degree in Math Education from Florida Atlantic University in 1970, he taught math for many years at St. Michael""s School and Martin County High School. Upon retiring, he and his wife spent nine years traveling through the US and Canada in their RV before settling in Auburndale with their son Chuck and his family. During the family""s thirty years in Jensen Beach, they attended All Saints Episcopal Church where Ben served in many leadership positions, including Senior Warden. Ben is survived by Clara; their two children, former Army Captain Brenda Sue Fulton of Asbury Park, New Jersey, married to Penelope D. Gnesin; and Lakeland Christian School Director of Bands Charles Benjamin Fulton, married to Kathy Allen; his granddaughter Amanda Joy, the daughter of Charles and Kathy; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Music Ministry, All Saints Episcopal Church, 209 South Iowa Avenue, Lakeland, Florida, 33801. A memorial service will be held at 10am Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Lakeland. Burial will be at 4pm Saturday at All Saints Cemetery in Jensen Beach, followed by a reception at the Parish Hall. Service: 09/21/2013 All Saints Episcopal Church 202 S.
