Allie Frances Mcgraw Hardy

October 23, 1932 — October 30, 2018

Allie Frances McGraw Hardy was born at home to Sherman and Isabelle McGraw in Brewton, Alabama, on October 23, 1932. She passed Tuesday, October 30, 2018, after a lengthy struggle with cancer. Fran married and had three children, Sharon Pierce, Betty Harrell, and Samuel Hardy. Fran was a loving mother and grandmother who was loved dearly by her children, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. After she and David Hardy married, they moved to Lakeland, Florida, and established Hardy Industries on Rose Street. Fran worked for Hardy’s for over 60 years as the bookkeeper. Today, her son Samuel operates the business. Fran loved church and the Lord. When the doors of the church opened, she was there. Music also was a huge part of her life. She loved playing the piano, organ, and accordion at numerous churches through the years. The last church she attended was Eastside Assembly in Winter Haven, Florida. One of Fran’s favorite events were her class reunions in Brewton, Alabama. She dearly loved attending these reunions until she became too ill to travel and visit her dear friends. Baseball was another love of Fran’s, and her favorite team was the Atlanta Braves. Her all-time favorite Brave was Dale Murphy until her grandson, Lucas Harrell, played for the Braves in 2016. Fran loved and supported all of her grandchildren. After she and her granddaughter, Amanda Harrell, chased a live frog in the house one time, they began to share a love of collecting frog figurines. With Carmen, she would go on a trip and sing “Little Bunny Foo Foo.” She loved to attend Dru and John’s concerts and was proud that each of them played an instrument. Complaining wasn’t part of Fran’s personality, she always had a smile, and a good attitude. Her strong and positive outlook helped anyone and everyone who was blessed to know her. She was strong in her faith and loved the Lord. Fran had three sisters and one brother, Paul McGraw, who preceded her in death.
