Alice Jones, 90, Lakeland Alice Ruth Adams Jones died on Saturday February 16, 2013, she was 90 years old. She was born to Barnett Davis Adams and Annie McPherson Adams on July 12, 1922 in Gainesville, Florida. She was predeceased by her sister Sarah Adams Gaitanis of Gainesville, Florida. She has a younger brother Robert (Bob) Adams of Ruskin Florida. Alice met RP (Dick) Jones, Jr when he was at the University of Florida, and they were married in 1944. They had three children, Ralph (Gloria) of Suwanee, Georgia, Margaret (Chuck) Campbell of Naples, Florida, and RP (Rick) (Dianne) Jones III of Los Lunas, New Mexico. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shanna, Shane, Eric, Mitchell, Michael and Matthew and great-grandchildren Cameron and Fred. Alice graduated with a degree in Education from Appalachian State and also received her Master""s degree from Appalachian State. She was active in service at First United Methodist Church, Lakeland, she served as chair of the Tuesday Music Club, and she was employed as media specialist at Medulla Elementary School. Alice also played a number of roles in productions at the Lakeland Little Theatre. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Dick " a former Lakeland City Commissioner, and local Architect. Her family knows that she is excited to have moved to heaven, though she was in good spirits, good mind and active until the last several weeks.
