Alice Eseverri

Alice Eseverri, 91 Lakeland- Alicia \"Alice\" Eseverri died on Sunday, September 1, 2013, of natural causes at 91 years of life. Born on August 24,1922 in Brooklyn, New York she was one of eight children . Upon completion of her studies in Manhattan, New York , Alice relocated to Caracas, Venezuela. Shortly thereafter, she secured a position at the United States Embassy in Caracas where she met her future husband, a Spaniard, Jose Maria Eseverri. Alice and Jose Mari were married in Venezuela and blessed with five children. Jose Mari longed to raise his children in his homeland, and with Alice\'s blessing, the family settled in Pamplona, Spain where they raised their children. Alice and Jose Mari\'s love of learning and sense of adventure was passed on to their children whose studies and careers led to opportunities in the United States and Venezuela. Alice and Jose Mari remained in their family home in Pamplona, until Jose Mari\'s passing, after which time she returned to the United States to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Alice never met a stranger and will be remembered for her gracious manner and easy smile. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched and who were fortunate enough to make her acquaintance. Alice was predeceased in death by her husband, Jose Mari and son Martin, and is survived by her children Karen (Michael) , Martin (Maite), Leslie( Manuel), Patricia(Luis) and 11 grand children. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 12:00pm at Resurrection Catholic Church.
