Adelaide Clement Sweat

Adelaide Clement Sweat Homemaker Fourth generation Lakelander, Adelaide Clement Sweat, was born to the late Frances and Henry Clement, September 6, 1939 and died on August 23, 2011 at her home due to cancer. Adelaide attended Lakeland Senior High School. After attending Florida State University, she married William A. Sweat in 1964, and they lived together in Lakeland, Florida. Adelaide was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Junior Woman""s Club, Junior League of Greater Lakeland, Dresden Antique Club and Provenance Antique Club. She was a loving wife and mother, and community volunteer. Adelaide is survived by her husband, William Sweat, two children: Margaret and husband, Alan de Zayas; and Cecelia and husband, Todd Christian. She also is survived by three grandchildren: Clement de Zayas, Adelaide (Addie) Christian, and Cecelia de Zayas. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Achievement Academy, Junior League of Greater Lakeland, or Family Worship Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., August 29, 2011 at Family Worship Center, 1350 E. Main Street, Lakeland. Please join the family at 3 p.m. for a visitation preceding the service.
