Virginia Varn Cox

Virginia Lee Varn Cox was preceded by her childhood sweetheart, husband and soulmate Doyle Carlton Cox; son Glen Michael; her parents Golespie “Dip”and Gladys Aldrich Varn; and her sister Helen Marie. Born and raised in Brooksville, FL, she graduated from Hernando High School, class of 1947, and attended Florida State University. They lived in Tallahassee, moving to Winter Haven in 1966, and to Lakeland in 1997. Virginia was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, the Tallahassee Junior Women’s Club, the National Secretary Association, and the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs in Tallahassee and Winter Haven. Survived by their beloved son, Ryan William; grandchildren Jennifer Marie, Justin Michael and Samantha Lynn; great-grandson Jaxon Michael, and great granddaughters, Cheyenne Leigh, Callie Raelynn and Riley Marie. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Chapel Tribute Center. Masks are required. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lake Lindsey Cemetery, Brooksville, Florida. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.heathfuneralchapel.com.
