Lakeland-Thomas P. Daley Jr. Passed away March 22, 2015 at L.R.M.C. Tom was born on May 19, 1930 in Worcester, MA and was the eldest of three children. He moved to Lakeland 44 years ago from Tantallon, MD. Tom was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country as a Green Beret paratrooper in the 187th Regimental Combat Team during the Korean War. He was a retired Sales Manager for BBS, and an entrepreneur owning his own lounge ""Tom Daleys""as well as The Smokehouse Restaurant in Lakeland. He was a member of the Rakkasan""s, AMVETS and the Winners Circle. Tom was a sports fanatic and a loyal supporter for the Detroit Tigers during spring training and attended fantasy camp with his beloved Boston Red Sox""s. He supported his children and grandchildren in their sports activities and was either in regular attendance cheering them on or actively coaching. Tom was proud of his Irish heritage and given his gift of gab he never knew a stranger. He was kind hearted, had a great sense of humor and passed down the tradition of shucking and eating oysters to the entire family. Mr. Daley was preceded in death by his son Timothy B. Daley. Survivors include former spouse Peggy Daley, sons Thomas P. Daley III (Sherry) and Michael Patrick Daley, two daughters Peggy D. Obel (Clark), Theresa M. Daley, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother, Kevin Daley (Mary), sister, Ellen Prokop (Mike), and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 29, from 4 pm-6 pm at Heath Funeral Chapel and a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 30, at 10:00 am at Shepherds Community United Methodist Church.
