Thomas Joseph Riley passed away after a short illness on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center with his son Michael and Patricia Riley, daughter Nicole and sister Kathleen by his side. He was born in Rome, N.Y. April 18, 1943 to Harry J. Riley and Ada (Keller) Riley. Tom was raised in Parish, New York graduating from APW High School. He served in the U.S. Airforce from 1962 to 1966 in Germany and was employed for machine maintenance at Cooper Crouse Hinds for over 25 years. Tom belongs to the “AmVets Post 32”, “VFW 2297” and “American Legion Post #4” where he served several years as the Service Officer. He has been retired since 2002 living in Lakeland, Florida. Tom was predeceased by his wife Shirley Christian Riley on May 26, 2018. He is survived by 3 children: Yvonne (Silvio) Kuhn in Germany, Michael (Patricia) Riley of Syracuse and Nicole (Robert) Bartlett in Canastota. There are 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is survived by 4 sisters: Patricia (Thomas) Scriber, MaryAnn (Larry) Ecker, Jeanette (Herman) Kleinhans, Kathleen Martin along with several nieces and nephews. Services held at Heath Funeral Chapel Lakeland, Florida October 15, 2019 at 10 a.m. and Inurnment to follow at 1 p.m. in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
