Peter Lane Grant

Peter L. Grant passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2022. He was born on December 29, 1932, in Amityville, NY, to R. Carrol and Doris Grant.


Peter served in the U.S. Army, and went on to attend Florida Southern College in Lakeland. He was the Administrator of Gessler Clinic in Winter Haven for 35 years. He was an active member of the Winter Haven Rotary Club, Ridge Art Association and Winter Haven area Chamber of Commerce. He also enjoyed golfing as a member of Lake Region Yacht and County Club and Grasslands of Lakeland.


Later in life, he spent his time volunteering for Pedal Power Ministry at The First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, restoring bicycles for children and families.


Peter was preceded in death by his wife, Joan T. Grant. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Antonius (Scott), son, Scott Grant (Melissa), stepdaughter, Kim Nesmith (Robert), stepson, Thomas Richardson (Cathy), stepdaughter, Ansley Apple (Mike), and sister, Linda MacLachlan. Altogether, they had 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.


The family would like to graciously thank Rosie and Jennet for your many years of dedication and love that you showed to Peter.


A service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at The First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland at 10:30 am, with a reception to follow.
