Homer Keeton Johnson Jr. Lakeland " Homer Keeton Johnson Jr. passed away October 7, 2015, at the age of 88. He was a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, a World War II Navy veteran and a Lakeland resident for 48 years. Homer""s occupation was in chemical engineering and management, with over 30 years of service in different divisions of American Cyanamid. His life was dedicated to his faith, leaving behind a legacy of ministry and carpentry skills that grace St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Lakeland. Homer is preceded in death by his parents, Homer Keeton Johnson Sr. and Theodosia Jones Johnson and his brother Walter Johnson, and survived by his cherished wife of 67 years, Lita Faye LeBlanc Johnson, his much loved children Colleen Ehlenbeck (Donald), Homer Johnson III (Renee), Bridget Parresol (Terry), Michele Fiore (Ronald), Suzanne Basco (John), and Bruce Johnson (Carol). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of Homer""s life at St. John Neumann Church on Monday, October 12, 2015 with a visitation between 10-11:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Homer will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 11:00 am with Military Honors. The family thanks St. John Neumann Ministers to the sick and Good Shepherd Hospice.
