Chris Sarratt, age 55, passed away on November 13, 2021, at Good Shepard Hospice, the result of complications from renal failure. He was predeceased by his mother Ruth, and is survived by wife Joy, son Trey Christopher (Christi) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, sister Joan of Knoxville, Tennessee, Father Lamar, and stepmother Judy both of Winter Haven. Chris was born at Lakeland Hospital and lived in this area his whole life. A graduate of Lakeland High School, he also attended Polk and Santa Fe Community colleges. He worked first at Reese Insulators in the citrus industry, then for Breed Technology and its successors. His last position was Engineering Technician, where he helped develop innovative prototypes of automobile air bag ignitors. His greatest pleasure in life was working as Coach and Athletic director of the Lakeland Gator youth football organization for more than ten years. He coached at all levels from 5- to 12-year-olds. Many of his former players stayed in touch as they became responsible adults in the community. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 10:00am.
